The Operating Engineers Local Union Local 406, which was chartered in 1910 represents over 1,800 members in the States of Louisiana and Mississippi.
Local 406 represents a wide variety of working men and women in such fields as Heavy Equipment Operators, Crane Rental, Heavy & Highway Construction, Pipeline Construction, Stationary Engineers, Casino Workers, Public Works, Ship Building, Offshore Fabrication, and Stevedoring. Local 406’s mission is to serve its members and represent them so they may have a voice in their work place and receive a fair wage for the skill work that they provide.
